This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and through the services we provide, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We are the responsible party for that information as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA").
1. What we collect, and why

To respond to you and keep a record of what was agreed. |
| Client business information For clients only: financial, operational and advertising account data supplied to us to do the work. |

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not collect special personal information as defined in POPIA unless you volunteer it in an enquiry.
2. Cookies and tracking
This site uses cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics 4 — measures site usage in aggregate. It tells us how many people read a page, not who they are.
- Meta Pixel — measures whether people who saw an advert on Facebook or Instagram then visited the site.
- Google Ads conversion tracking — records when a visitor from one of our adverts takes an action such as tapping the WhatsApp button or completing the AI readiness check.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, though some measurement will be incomplete.
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate — our website host, email provider, analytics and advertising platforms (Google and Meta), and the tools we use to prepare documents.
- Professional advisers where we are required to take advice, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on the provider's own contractual safeguards, as POPIA permits for cross-border transfers.
4. Client confidentiality
Information you give us to do the work, such as financial statements, management accounts or advertising performance, is treated as confidential. It is used for your engagement only, is seen only by the people working on it, and is not used as an example or reference without your written permission.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client records: for the engagement and for as long afterwards as law requires, which for financial and tax records in South Africa is generally five years.
- Website analytics: according to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
6. How we protect it
We keep information on access-controlled systems, transmit it over encrypted connections, limit access to the people who need it, and never share credentials by message or email. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, misleading or no longer needed;
- object to us processing your information, and withdraw consent you have given;
- ask us to stop sending you marketing, at any time; and
- complain to the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these, email info@mutchconsult.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for a reasonable request.
8. The Information Regulator
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa), whose contact details are published at inforegulator.org.za.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Material changes will be signposted on this page.
